The shift transport headaches we take off your desk

A western staff shuttle fails in the same few ways. Here is what each one costs, and the mechanism we use to stop it.

Problem

Your night shift ends after 11pm, and by then the last train out of the west may already have gone.

What we do: The coach is at your gate when the shift ends and sets the crew down at their blocks. A journey that touches 11pm to 7am adds SGD 20 per vehicle, and that line sits on the quote before you confirm.

Problem

The worksite sits deep in Tuas, and the nearest bus stop is a long walk from your gate.

What we do: Send the gate or block number and the coach drives to it. Pickup points are written into the contract, not decided by the driver on the day.

Pain

Every worker books a separate app ride to the gate, so the receipts pile up and the monthly bill cannot be forecast.

What we do: One 45-seater carries the whole crew for SGD 100 a trip, and that figure is published on this page. That comes as one booking, one price and one invoice under UEN 53379842J.

Pain

Six people arrive late, the line starts late, and you pay for the idle time across the whole shift.

What we do: The crew travels on one vehicle and reaches the gate together. Pickup times are built backwards from your clock-in, so the coach is there before the shift bell.

Frustration

You have already tried a staggered timetable and a group chat, and people still miss the pickup.

What we do: Fixed points and fixed times go into the contract. We send the assigned driver's name and number before the trip, so a late worker can reach them directly instead of ringing you.

Frustration

Months of expense claims later, finance still cannot match a receipt to a shift.

What we do: You get one monthly invoice under UEN 53379842J, priced on the route you agreed. Any extra journey you book is billed from the same published rate card.

Fear

You are afraid the shuttle simply does not turn up one morning, a whole shift misses the clock-in, and it is your name on the booking.

What we do: Singapore Bus Charter is licensed by the Land Transport Authority to operate private hire buses, and the assigned driver's details reach you before the trip. If a coach is taken off the road at short notice, a partner operator with the same LTA licensing covers it and you hear from us first.

Fear

You are signing a monthly contract with an operator you have never used, and you fear the rate creeps up once your crews depend on it.

What we do: A monthly contract fixes the route and the rate for its term, in writing. Only four surcharges exist, and every one of them is printed in the table below at the amount our pricing page shows. We are not GST registered, so no tax lands on top.

The western zones we cover

We drive door to gate across the industrial west, and cover the residential journeys home afterwards.

Jurong Industrial Estate

We pick up and set down at factory gates and loading bays across the estate, timed to your clock-in rather than to a public timetable.

Tuas and Tuas South

We go deep into Tuas and Tuas South, including the newer plots where the walk in from the nearest bus stop is long.

Boon Lay and Jurong West

This is the journey home. A night crew is set down at the housing blocks instead of waiting on a platform for a train that has already gone.

Jurong East and Jurong Island

We shuttle from Jurong East interchange to sites well past the nearest bus stop. For Jurong Island, send the plant name and the gate, and tell us which site passes the driver needs.

Shift patterns we cover

Tell us the clock-in and the clock-out, and the schedule is built backwards from there.

🌅Early clock-in pickup

We collect from the housing blocks before dawn, so a full crew reaches the gate ahead of the shift bell.

🌙After the last train

We handle drop-offs after the trains have stopped for the night. Any journey touching 11pm to 7am carries SGD 20 per vehicle.

🔄Rotating and split shifts

One agreement can cover a morning coach and an evening coach, for a roster that changes during the week.

Overtime and extra crews

We send a coach at short notice when a job overruns, or when an extra team is called in for the night.

🔨Shutdown and maintenance weeks

We add vehicles for the weeks when contractor headcount jumps, then go back to the standing route.

🚚Two way daily shuttle

The coach goes out in the morning and back at the end of the shift. On the 45-seater a two way trip is SGD 200.

Jurong and Tuas route rates

Every rate is charged per vehicle, never per passenger. All-inclusive of driver, fuel, ERP and parking.

VehiclePoint to pointTwo way returnPer hour (4hr min)Four hour blockEight hour day
23-seater minibusSGD 85SGD 170SGD 50SGD 200SGD 400
45-seater coachSGD 100SGD 200SGD 60SGD 240SGD 480
49-seater coachSGD 110SGD 220SGD 70SGD 280SGD 560

A day longer than eight hours is quoted at the same hourly rate. A monthly contract is not a list price. It is quoted on your route, your headcount and your shift times. Every figure above also appears on the pricing page.

The only four surcharges

Nothing else is added to a staff shuttle. Each one is itemised in writing before you confirm.

SurchargeWhen it appliesAmount
MidnightAny journey touching 11pm to 7am, which covers most late shift drop-offsSGD 20 per vehicle
Public holidayA gazetted public holidaySGD 30 per vehicle
Extra stopEach stop added beyond the agreed route on a point to point booking. Waived on hourly hireSGD 20 per stop, per vehicle
Excess waitingBeyond 15 minutes free, charged per 15 minute blockSGD 15 per block

Hourly and monthly bookings carry no waiting charge, and hourly hire carries no extra stop charge either. We are not GST registered, so no tax is added to any of these figures.

One coach against forty separate fares

Sending a crew of forty to a Tuas gate by ride hailing app means one fare for every worker. Each fare is booked, claimed and checked on its own, so the daily total moves and the monthly figure cannot be forecast.

One 45-seater coach carries that crew of forty for SGD 100 a trip. That works out at SGD 2.50 a head, before you count the supervisor time spent chasing receipts and matching them to shifts.

There is a longer read on the arithmetic in our monthly staff shuttle cost guide, and a direct comparison in bus charter against Grab and taxi.

A monthly contract, or a booking on the day

Most western sites use both. A standing contract covers the roster, and single bookings cover the weeks that do not fit it.

What a contract fixes

A contract fixes the route, the pickup points, the times and the rate for the term of the agreement, in writing. Terms are set out on the monthly contract page.

How it is quoted

We price it on your headcount, your shift times and the length of the journey. Monthly is always a quote and never a list price, so send us the roster and we will put a figure in writing.

Ad-hoc against a contract

Overtime nights, plant shutdowns and audit visits go on the same account as one-off bookings, priced from the published rate card above.

Scaling up and down

Add a second coach for a busy month, or drop back to one when headcount falls, without reopening the whole agreement.

The journey home after the trains stop

A crew that clocks out at 11.30pm can miss the last train out of the west. That is the shift most employers get wrong, because a train can leave before the crew reaches the station.

We handle it as a drop-off. The coach is at the gate when the shift ends and sets the crew down at their blocks. A journey that touches 11pm to 7am adds SGD 20 per vehicle, and that amount is the same whether you finish at 11.15pm or at 3am.

Morning collections work the same way, with the coach at the housing blocks before the shift bell. If your crews need cover at any hour, read how we handle round the clock bus charter, or see the wider staff transport service.

What is in the price

One all-inclusive figure per vehicle, whether you book a single journey or a full contract.

🚗Driver and fuel

Every driver holds a Class 4 or 4A driving licence and a Bus Driver's Vocational Licence. Fuel is already in the figure.

💳ERP and parking

Road charges and parking at the gate are covered. There is no booking fee and no charge per passenger.

Air-conditioned with seat belts

The coaches are air-conditioned, with a seat belt on every seat and a microphone and PA for announcements.

💼Room for bags and gear

The 45 and 49 seaters have underfloor holds for tool bags and helmets. The 23-seater has overhead racks and a fold down rear row that makes room for about 15 large bags.

Wheelchair ramp on request

Available on all three vehicle sizes. A motorised chair needs a size and weight check before the booking is confirmed.

🚫What is not on board

No wifi, no USB or power charging and no toilet. Reclining seats are on the 45 and 49 seaters only.
